It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the SCANDINAVIAN PHYSIOLOGICAL SOCIETY 2021 meeting in Stockholm! After a year of many challenges, social distancing and many digital interactions we are looking forward to 2021 and to meeting you in Stockholm at the Clarion Sign Hotel. In addition to five keynote lectures from renowned experts, we are planning 14 symposia consisting of invited speakers as well as talk selected from submitted abstracts. Drawing on the tradition of strong community involvement in the Scandinavian Physiological Society we encourage you to suggest symposia and to submit an application to host and chair (see “call for symposia“).
The venue is located at the centre of the beautiful city of Stockholm and is easily accessed from the central train station and airport bus stops by foot. Details of the programme and invited speakers are found on the website and will be updated continually. Special Interest groups (SIG’s) will have meetings on Thursday 2 September, followed by the SPS annual meeting Friday 3 September – Sunday 5 September. SIG’s in cardiac and skeletal muscle have confirmed participation and Renal and Vascular SIG’s are also considering participation. The Young investigator awards for oral and poster presentations will be announced and awarded at the dinner on Saturday 4 September. We are also planning daily podcasts to highlight key events and presentations.
