Dear Colleagues,

After more than a year of many challenges and many digital interactions we are currently seeing a brittle but continuous decline in the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Stockholm, in the Nordic countries, as well as the rest of Europe. This positive trend has contributed to that the executive committee of Scandinavian Physiological Society has given the local organizing committee the SUPPORT TO GO AHEAD WITH A LIVE, IN PERSON MEETING IN SEPTEMBER. We in the local organizing committee and the conference venue will make sure to host a meeting that comply with general guidelines from The Public Health Agency of Sweden to prevent the spreading of COVID-19 infections.

Thus, it is our great pleasure to welcome you to the SCANDINAVIAN PHYSIOLOGICAL SOCIETY 2021 meeting in Stockholm!

REGISTRATION is OPEN! We have five renowned experts confirmed as keynote speakers and 14 symposia consisting of invited speakers as well as talks selected from submitted abstracts. Details of the program and invited speakers are found on the website and will be continuously updated. Submission for LATE-BREAKING ABSTRACTS (posters only) is open (deadline August 25th, 2021). Moreover, four Special Interest groups (SIG’s, in cardiac, skeletal muscle, renal and vascular physiology) will have meetings on Thursday 2 September, followed by the SPS annual meeting Friday 3 September to Sunday 5 September.

Master students, PhD students and post docs can apply for travel grants, deadline August 1st. More information found HERE.

The conference venue is the Clarion Sign Hotel, located at the center of the beautiful city of Stockholm and is easily accessed from the central train station and airport bus stops by foot.

Ps. In the event of an unfortunate fourth wave with stricter restrictions we are prepared to have a hybrid meeting, but let’s all keep our fingers crossed that the positive trend with fewer cases of Covid-19 continues.
